When you wake up in the morning, what is the first thought that enters your mind?
Have you ever tracked this? I mean REALLY track as in write waking thoughts with pen and paper (yes, the writing matters). Try this for 2 weeks - you might be surprised at what you discover!
Self-understanding - Its something! Most of our time is externally focused, thinking and pondering things outside ourselves - circumstances, issues, etc…
I contend, what is most important is that inward look. Are you in the present or past? Happy or sad? Focused or lost?
Ever said to yourself, “I am too busy to ask myself these questions?” Yes, you're probably like most people on the planet. My clients have pondered these internal questions, after spending time looking externally, and came to the conclusion, its not out there, its in me and I need help objectively looking at me! Coaching provides an opportunity to look at the “present” going forward!
I love working with people who are lost and KNOW it!
A good example of coaching is Tiger Woods, whom I have met, has been one of the top-ranked golfers on the planet, and he had a coach. The worlds #1 golfer had a coach! Why you ask? Well, when asked about it, he exclaimed, “yes, I am the world’s best golfer, and I know that there are some things in my game I can't see and I need someone close to me that I trust who will tell me the truth! Wow!
Do you need a truth-teller and someone you trust in your life?
I was one of those people who worked hard to find my path externally and had some success by my standards, but real success came from looking within, something I still do today, and I have a mentor/coach too. It's not easy, but it is gratifying.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made! I also believe we are an important part of the fabric of Life, and I have the high honor to walk along side people and reflect to them their thoughts, processes, and journey.
And I, too, am blessed by the journey we undertake. Lets connect!
