It is within you!

I recently heard a profound quote which made me think of many experiences I was blessed with. The quote, "when you are born, you look like your parents, when you die you look like your choices!"
Why this topic?
Mostly because I was blown away by its potential impact to me. I lost sleep, muttered to myself about many subjects in my life, family, jobs I had, arguments won and lost, dreams unrealized, love, spiritual thoughts, and memories from my childhood.
I am not sure about you, but this quote has me all over the place... As I sit here writing this blog, my mind is racing to make sense of what I want to share, given I have thought about this statement for a bit. The connection to what is on my mind versus the thousands of potential meanings. means I have to choose a thought to run with.
I landed here!
The most powerful impact you can have is assessing your choices. The immense power you have to CHOOSE, impacts your today, tomorrow, and beyond. So let me bring this thought closer to the ground.
We are taught to how to think, think, interpret what we encounter, to derive a specific purpose or goal. Consciously choosing to be rich, poor, enlightened, a victim, invisible, hero, abuser, criminal, protector, the list is innumerable, but you do get to choose. Some would argue, with limited choices, but the power to choose is always present!
So how do you maximize your power of choice? Maybe THC? Not that THC, but by being Truthful, Honest, and Consistent with yourself. Sometimes internal delusions can derail the best intentions. What if you met those internal delusions head on? By the way, you may be thinking, how will I know I am deluding myself?
You do know! It may not be clear but you have some semblance of what is within you. My goal is for you (the reader), is to give yourself room to challenge your thinking or even sharing your thoughts with a trusted friend, advisor, etc for feedback (additional thoughts to consider). First with yourself, having that quiet time to consider your thoughts. Too often we rush into choices with good reasoning only to discover, with a little more time or insight, we may have landed on a different choice. Not a perfect choice, just different.
We are given only so much time, so lets make sure we are engaged on a level that embraces THC, and keep moving forward. You can talk about the quality of your choices, but first base here is landing on the (power) to choose. Reject judgement of your choices, and land on the power to keep moving yourself forward. For reflection, enjoy the POWER to choose and may the journey you are on bless you and those around you.
Cheers,
